Who we are
Kathryn Wall is the founder of Triangle Story Studio, where she helps families, community organizations, and institutions preserve their stories through oral histories, audio documentary, and digital archives.
Kathryn has spent more than twenty-five years practicing public history at the community level. As Co-Director of Public History at the Marian Cheek Jackson Center in Chapel Hill, she has led projects rooted in deep listening, community trust, and the belief that everyone has a story worth preserving. She holds a Ph.D. in United States History from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she trained under Jacquelyn Dowd Hall in the Southern Oral History Program, and holds a Certificate in Documentary Audio from Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies.
She started Triangle Story Studio because she kept encountering individuals, families, and organizations with extraordinary stories but no one to help them tell those stories well and safeguard them for the next generation. Your stories are waiting. And so is she.
